We consider all good books, CDs, and DVDs in very good or better condition! See below for more info on what we usually want and what we never do.
Books: Bring your items in to our Buy Counter in the back of the store seven days a week from 10am – 6pm. (We close early at 5pm for ArtWalk, the second Thursday of every month.) If it is raining, please cover your books thoroughly! Water damage devalues books immensely. (See below for information on parking and transporting.)
Records: our buyer is at the store Wednesdays 12 pm to 6 pm, and Sundays 12 pm to 6 pm.
Getting them here: If you are bringing in more than a few boxes, the best place to park is on the street or in the pay parking lot just before the Spring Arts Tower lobby at 453 S. Spring St. If you have a large amount of books, call us when you arrive! We can usually come out with a hand-truck to help if you have a large amount of books.
Compensation: If you bring items in, we’ll either make you a cash offer or a cash and trade offer. If you drop your books off after 6pm (or if you have a large amount of books), we’ll look at them within a day and give you a call with our offer. Note: the trade offer is usually 50% more than the cash offer.
What we usually need in good condition: Classics, books published within the last 2 years, feature film DVDs, TV show boxset DVDs, art, architecture, photography, counterculture, philosophy, graduate level non-fiction, graphic novels, modern literature, music books, vintage children’s books, recent cookbooks, mathematics, current textbooks published the past 3 years, and more!
What we never take: Encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest, really dirty or moldy books, magazines from the past 20 years, most hardcover novels, kids books not in like-new condition.
