The Thing in the Labyrinth: a horror book club with Kathryn E. McGee

9:30 p.m.

The Thing in the Labyrinth, led by the intrepid Kathryn E. McGee, meets after hours in the dark heart of our labyrinth, where sometimes weird things happen. It’s just a book club, but you never know what will emerge from the stacks.

We’re looking at the genre-melding Her Body and Other Parties in August. Carmen Maria Machado’s stories include a retelling of a classic from In a Dark, Dark Room, a wildly inventive spin on Law & Order: SVU, and 6 more tales that compress horror, comedy, sci-fi, feminism, and… weirdness.

This one is different – but that’s what we do, we horror fans – we walk into the unknown.

All book clubs require a ticket, and include the book, snacks/bevs, and a dedicated moderator – to keep the discussion on track! All clubs meet at The Last Bookstore.

You can get your ticket (we’ll ship the book to you!) at this link right here – OR just come in to the store and look for our book club display (near the book tunnel).

If you choose the on-line option (the one with shipping), please send a mailing addy to larkin.lastbookstore@gmail.com
