The Last Bookstore is pleased to host rising star, passionate humanitarian, and versatile artist Rowan Blanchard for the release of her book Still Here. Join us to hear Rowan discuss this poignant representation of what it means to be a teen in today’s world.
Alongside her own diary entries, poems, and personal photos are taped-in letters, photos, and poems from her friends who inspire her, like the poet Rupi Kaur (Milk and Honey), photographer Gia Coppola, and writer Jenny Zhang (Sour Heart), among others. The result is an intimate portrayal of what it means to be a teenager in today’s world. Emotional, upfront, and an honest reflection on the world, Still Here embodies Rowan’s vast ability to motivate teens to action.
Rowan Blanchard’s commitment to achieving equality on multiple social matters has given her a platform to inspire and motivate others. She decided to create her first book, Still Here, in an effort to further encourage other teens. Blanchard can currently be seen by television audiences on the hit show The Goldbergs, and she will appear in the Ava DuVernay directed film A Wrinkle in Time in its highly anticipated March 2018 release. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her family. Follow her story on instagram @rowanblanchard.
