Him with Pierre Alex Jeanty

7:30 p.m.

The Last Bookstore is excited to host a book-signing for author and love expert Pierre Alex Jeanty, author of Her, Him and Her Vol. 2. Pierre has written 8 books and is excited to share Him, his latest body of work. Join us on October 25th at 7:30pm as Pierre will be signing copies of his latest book, reading excerpts from the book and more.

Him is a collection of “he-poetry” in a world of “she-poems” that tends to only refer to him when speaking ill. Through poetry and prose, Pierre wears his heart on paper and pens a tribute to men; their undelivered feelings, unrecognized strength, their loud silence, and their neglected complaints. Him celebrates good men, their love, their worth, and their beauty. The characteristics that often fall into the shadows are now brought to life.

Originally born in Port-Aux-Prince, Haiti, Pierre moved to the states, Immokalee, Florida, where he was raised by his mother who earned a living by picking tomatoes. Immokalee is small poverty-stricken town full of migrant workers who make a living through working agriculture jobs. Pierre excelled in cross country and track, so he quickly became known as the kid that could run really fast but could barely speak English. During his sophomore year, his father was murdered. This tragedy deeply affected Pierre, as the event took place less than a year after he and his estranged father were set to build on their non-existent father and son relationship. Bob Brown, the counselor at the high school Pierre attended, became a mentor to him as he pushed Pierre to reach his potential. Pierre, then developed a hunger to challenge himself educationally, enrolling in a few honor courses. In 2007, Pierre became the first generation in his family to attend college, receiving one of the largest scholarships in Immokalee High School history.
Pierre has always reflected on his life and felt he was blessed, he used that energy and would write motivational/spiritual material. Pierre later gravitated to writing about relationship matters because he felt there was a lack of positive representation of men in movies, social media etc. In 2014, Pierre walked away from his job and created Gentlemenhood, a brand Pierre used to share his journey, lessons, and the mistakes he made as he walked into manhood and into love. The success of the blog led Pierre to writing his first book Unspoken Feelings of a Gentleman, which became an instant bestseller. To The Women I Once Loved which was his entrance into the poetry genre as he expanded into inspiring women. Pierre has since written six more books with a goal to help people heal, reflect, and stay hopeful about love or meeting the better version of themselves.

“I want people to know men and women aren’t black and white; men feel, hurt, and love too.”
As an entrepreneur, Pierre has also been able to share his success by helping other authors through his company Jeanius Publishing. Pierre has self-published his books and successfully landed them on the shelves of major bookstores such Barnes and Noble, Target, and various large chains internationally in countries such as Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, and more.
In his free time, Pierre enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, writing, and occasionally traveling.
