Like noir, like horror, like romance, Gothic cuts right to a specific feeling – or maybe a knot of feelings. It could be old or it could be fresh off the presses, you know it when it hits you, and you settle back into your doom buggy, eyes wide open… and wait.
For September, at the head of our favorite season, we go back to an early story: The Monk by Matthew Lewis – heavy on the religious & supernatural and terribly, terribly debauched.
Please note: we meet after hours.
HOW IT WORKS:
All book clubs require a ticket, and include the book, snacks/bevs, and a dedicated moderator – to keep the discussion on track! All clubs meet at The Last Bookstore.
You can get your ticket (we’ll ship the book to you!) at this link right here – OR just come in to the store and look for our book club display, near the book tunnel. (The on-line option will shut down a week before the event, but that does not mean we are sold out.)
If you choose the on-line option (the one with shipping), please send a mailing addy to firstname.lastname@example.org
